The time to explore, do quests, and being lazy is soon over. Right now i can still accept people not coming to guild missions and being lazy since the game offers alot of things to do before you reach lvl50 (and after 50) but we are going to be a serious pvp guild, and we also need to level up and grind with the guild missions at the set times.

So as i have said from the start, i give everyone 6 weeks to reach level 50. After that time, people below level 50 will be kicked from the guild. (however they can still rejoin after they reach level 50).

Also, the time for lazyness is over. I cannot really be bothered that much if we end up with 10 people in the guild who actually play and help and make us grow and have fun together then being a guild of ~30 people who get the guild benefits and never join in pvp or missions or join teamspeak.
So starting from next week sunday evening please join often on teamspeak, do guild missions (you also get exp and money and contribution points yourself) and come to arena's and do gvg's with us.

I expect to at least kick around 10 people from what i have seen so far but maybe people can change. We'l see :)

"the time to explore and do quests is soon over...." those two things are some of my main reasons to play games really. i do understand that in the guild we have a strong focus on PvP, however there are a few things i would like to mention, which make PvP in Black Desert less attractive to me, than i originally thought.

as opposed to other games i have played before, where skill determines the outcome of a PvP encounter, an advantage in Black Desert's PvP is almost entirely gear based. When you have the time to no life your way up to lvl55/+15 then you dominate, if you are good at fighting or not doesn't matter much. this greately diminishes the enjoyment i get out of PvPing.

i find GvG extremely lacklustre and random. hopefully there will be more focus in siege and node wars but open world GvG is something that doesn't work for me at all. i would prefer to have a confined battlespace where i can PvP when i want to PvP and not be forced to PvP when i am about to try to complete somethign else. GvG encounters usually interfere with whatever else i am doing and are a nuisance.

PvP is to me one aspect of many the game has to offer and i aim to enjoy them all. i want a well rounded gaming experience where PvP is one of the cogs that keep the whole machine turning, just like crafting, exploring, questing, socializing and all the other, many possible activities.

and most importantly, it is a game and once there is pressure, it sort of defeats the purpose of playing a game which most of all is having a good time. guild missions take up about 2 hours of the same ~5 participants' time each day while others enjoy the same benefits of bonus HP/AP and daily pay without contributing. this is putting pressure on those who regularly help out. they have to put in more time in order to complete these missions because the majority doesn't put in any time at all and in my book this is not ok and bordering on antisocial behavior.

anyway, i hope i wasn't rambling too much, i just wanted to share some of my thoughts on PvP and guild stuff.

i am still looking forward to the many planned PvP activities!

      see you later ingame :)

i realise this and agree with you on this part @Clintwood. But GVG's are still going to be useful training tools for the sieges wich we need (and can be fun)
I have not worded the first sentence too well since obviously people are still free to play how they want to play, as long as they do guild missions and pvp with us. I also want to do some arena sometimes. Although GVG's will always be something that interferes with something else you are doing.
Guild missions are a must to progress though, and i do not like people never joining them and will be more strict starting from sunday. Again: i would rather have a smaller guild with active players then people who "leech" us so to say, as you also noted in your post.
I do think its wise to consider the amount of GVG's we will be doing for the reason it can also be the opposite of fun due to the heavy gear unbalance. But it still can be fun and i do want to stay a pvp guild and use it for training for sieges. Maybe we should plan a guild meeting for this.

I feel that for GvG's to give any proper pvp training for sieges it has to be under controlled circumstances, meaning that we ally ourselves with another guild that are similar to ours in size and progress and then have a set place and time for when we actually practice big scale battles. Random 1v1 or 2v1 skirmishes with people that vastly outgear or vice versa does nothing to hone our pvp skills, it's actually just annoying to fight someone just because they happen to be from a different guild that we randomly decided that we don't like.

I see more use in the GvG system for when you really want to contest a grindspot and don't want to lose all your karma, gems and exp for it. I honestly don't see the point in these lacklustre hunting parties we tried to arrange last weekend when we supposedly practised GvG.

I also hope that there will be more than 5 of us doing the guild quests in the future because they're actually pretty relaxing and we have a nice mood when we're just grinding away.

On the topic of this game being heavily gear based, that is absolutely true, but what that means is that we will have to pick our battles more carefully, and hope that the 16+ upgrades take a good while before they come out so we can get a good roster of 15+ geared people ready, because even though I for example am online a lot, I tend to do tons of random crap that doesn't directly increase the level of my gear but is still enjoyable to me.

everyone does that @Getfader :) contribution points and energy in the end make for more money wich means better gear :)
