<Question & Discussion> Path for future weapon upgrade/choice

I am a little bit confused when playing and thinking of future paths for my weapon's development. I am told that the Siren weapon's proc chance is broken, and it is not in a sense of "OP, 100% chance proc - broken", but in a "THIS SHIT IS NOT WORKING - broken" and I was highly recommended to keep True Profane weapon while farming enough gold+materials to blast through the siren upgrades (Awakened and True Siren) AND of course, by that, the Pirate weapon and material to enter Pirate series.

My first question: Am I understanding this correctly? can @Blinkx and/or other confirm?

Now I can see that from main story quest, there's a new weapon to be awarded when new patch comes/whenever next Arc is available.

My second question: What is this weapon series future name? (as in, names that they will be known. e.g. Our Hongmoon weapon is to be upgraded to Siren/Pirate etc) Is it now the time to choose either to switch weapon or not?

My third question: Extreme Pirate Weapon users (Evolution from True pirate series) can, and is recommended to break and obtain soul, which is an accessory at +20 atk +additional crit damage (I think you can see the unopened slot in our character equipment page). Then what weapon should/do we have as replacement? Is it the new weapon from Main Story Quest?

My forth question: Since I am at True Profane Weapon stage 10, and saving up for future upgrades (I don't have much time to play daily, as a result, I am not effectively saving up at all.) should I skip upgrading my weapon to Siren then Pirate, instead, use the new weapon from Main Story Quest?

You dont need other weapons in this game. You always evolve your current gear. Going now to siren downgrades your weapon so hold onto profane until the new patch.
The new weapon from the story quest is just another hongmoon weapon i guess with the same upgrade paths.

Your questions I see are actually all related so let me explain:

True profane stage 10 is fine for now on where you are, have the same on 2 chars now however your weapon will become much stronger, Im saving the materials atm for awakened and true siren and upgrade them immedialty when patch starts, might even be sooner as I have my forcemaster now to farm as well.

Now the weapon from the main story quest, it is not a replacable weapon for you hongmen weapon, and I do not believe its a weapon needed to evolve, I think I remember it doesn't say breakthrough weapon, it is just a normal weapon that looks good but isn't really compared to your hongmen weapon.

What I can remember is that in the silverfrost patch at least on japan some rewards in the story are weapons that actually breakthrough weapons for your hongmen weapon but it should state that like any weapon we have for now (breakthrough material).

So in silverfrost you are not going to get a new starting hangmen weapon, you will contimue with the one we have now all the way to where korea is.

As for a legendary weapon if you ever want to aim for that, at a certain stage in the silverfrost patch, your weapon is going to call GALE weapon (its red then) and its about 2 stages before it ends,

That weapon is needed because you have to feed it to your legendary weapon later on...
