I started watching anime since i was 12 or something. (i'm 24 now)
First things like Gundam wing & dragonball.
Eventually i switch to watching anime online, and binge-watched the hell out of it during my teens.
(once watched 200 episodes in 2 weeks of vacation.)
I haven't updated this list for this anime season yet, so i can add i think around 4 shows to the list.

I mostly check the summeries of anime, or watch the first ep.
sometimes I see a interesting scene on youtube and look it up where it's from.
If I like it, I continue watching, if not I drop or stall it.

In statistics i would be spending around 1% of my life on anime by now.
    How i do it? Simple:

    - I hated clubbing/nightlife
    - I don't drink alcohol
    - Didn't sport a lot during teens
    - Don't have a girlfriend
    - My friends liked msn, skype, etc. to talk instead of hanging out physically.
    - Be Introverted
    - Get hyped for next weeks episode

Some cliffhangers are harder than RL for sure.....sometimes i just want to smash some Animators for Cliffhangers or Endings.....!!!! Also i hate those Teasing animes wich are incredible good and have a decent Love thing going on...but in the end....they just stay friends like....what...its like saying " haha you faggots....youll never have a GF in RL just like him! LOL" :D

yeah, cliffhangers are dangerous XD they keep me on edge for the next ep.
There is a reason why certain anime remain harems/ unending. Usually they are based on visual novels(games), where the main character(the player) can follow different routes in the game so he can end up with a different girl. as to not pick preference for 1 girl in the game, the anime ends with an open end or the "true ending" of the game, to safeguard the preference of the viewer (who perhaps likes any of the other girls).

    For example:
In the clannad game you can date any of the female cast (even the guy i think)
Doing the nagisa route ends in a sad ending of the game.
While if you have done ALL other routes, you get the "true ending".
This game mechanic/story idea is kinda hard to include in the anime.
They still did it pretty well, and also subtlely with the "collecting of light orbs" during various scenes of the anime
(collecting all 7 light-orbs in the game, would allow the MC to make a wish, which undo's Nagisa's sad ending)
You'd only notice if you were aware of the game mechanic in the game.
The final scenes in the anime the entire city skyline is filled with these orbs, (since he helped everyone in town attain happiness, except his own)
thus granting the happy (true) ending for himself in the anime version.

Sometimes anime are just "teasers" so people will start reading the light novels or manga to know the end. (they used to be longer but these days usually end with 12 eps)
For example: Spice & wolf, Airgear, "Is it okay to pick up girls in a dungeon", etc.
